Call me old fashioned but i think that when someone takes the time to send you a card or gift in the mail or however, that one should take the time to personally thank them. Email, text or Facebook messages are not personal at all....what has happened to us when we can have a cell phone pasted to the side of our head but can't take the time to actually call someone and talk to them? We have lost what is important, before you know it, or maybe it is already happening, when someone is terribly ill or dying or dead... well they better read their email to see how much their friends are praying for them and/or caring for them. They do have computers etc in intensive care right? I mean I would hate for the person to die without reading their messages first! They may die never knowing how many really cared about them, but did not have the time to call.♥

Consumer Reports' latest test of fresh, whole broilers bought in 22 states reveals that two-thirds of birds tested harbored salmonella and/or campylobacter, the leading bacterial causes of food-borne disease. The report reveals that organic "air-chilled" broilers were among the cleanest and that Perdue was found to be the cleanest of the brand-name chicken. Tyson and Foster Farms chickens were found to be the most contaminated. Pfizer Broke the Law by Promoting Drugs for Unapproved Uses:
On the morning of Sept. 2, 2009, another Pfizer unit, Pharmacia & Upjohn, agreed to plead guilty to the same crime. This time, Pfizer executives had been instructing more than 100 salespeople to promote Bextra, a drug approved only for the relief of arthritis and menstrual discomfort, for treatment of acute pains of all kinds.

For this new felony, Pfizer paid the largest criminal fine in U.S. history: $1.19 billion. On the same day, it paid $1 billion to settle civil cases involving the off-label promotion of Bextra and three other drugs with the U.S. and 49 states.
“At the very same time Pfizer was in our office negotiating and resolving the allegations of criminal conduct in 2004, Pfizer was itself in its other operations violating those very same laws,” Loucks, 54, says. “They’ve repeatedly marketed drugs for things they knew they couldn’t demonstrate efficacy for. That’s clearly criminal.”
The penalties Pfizer paid this year for promoting Bextra off-label were the latest chapter in the drug’s benighted history. The FDA found Bextra to be so dangerous that Pfizer took it off the market for all uses in 2005.
Across the U.S., pharmaceutical companies have been pleading guilty to criminal charges or paying penalties in civil cases when the U.S. Department of Justice finds that they deceptively marketed drugs for unapproved uses, putting millions of people at risk of chest infections, heart attacks, suicidal impulses or death.

I guess some schools decided that it is better for the kids to listen to RAP music then to watch the President of the United States speak to them! Maybe I am "old school" but I think this is censorship in it's most insulting form! That the principals of the schools, of which we the taxpayers support, have the right to keep information away from our citizens is outrageous to me. Yes I do believe that our children are citizens too! Hey guys I am a grandma and I don't buy this "death panel" stuff that "some" elected officials and TV stations are trying to sell to us for one minute! There are currently several "government run" insurances in our country at the moment that do just fine: Social Security (would not be in any kind of trouble if Congress would keep it's hands out of the money it brings in) and Veteran's Health Insurance (most vets would say the "best in the world") so what are all the scare tactics about? Well, IMHO, they just want the rich to get richer and the poor to die somewhere under a bridge after their medical bills have taken away all they own, including the roof over their heads! If we don't get universal health care now we never will! Just my humble opinion, what do you think?
